For this special article, we interviewed a well-respected and hard-working therapist. Arjun G, the mastermind behind a chain of ten thriving physiotherapy clinics, is a force to be reckoned with in Bangalore’s healthcare industry. His dedication and passion for providing top-notch patient care have earned him a reputation as a rising star in the local scene. With a bold ambition to open 100 clinics across India, Arjun G is poised to become a major player in the country’s healthcare landscape. His unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others through his clinics is nothing short of inspiring, and it’s no wonder that patients and colleagues alike look up to him as a true leader in the field. Keep an eye on Arjun G, as he’s sure to make big waves in the world of physiotherapy and beyond.
Arjun G, the owner of C7, a chain of physiotherapy clinics, has been making waves in the industry with his unique approach to patient care. In this recent interview, he shared some insights into his background, current business ventures, and long-term goals for his brand.
Arjun’s journey into physiotherapy began with his love for sports. Although he aspired to become a cricketer, he eventually chose physiotherapy because of the symbiotic relationship between sports and education in the field. Despite facing setbacks early in his career, Arjun’s ambition to succeed led him to start his own business. He is now the owner of 10 C7 clinics, with 7 located in Bangalore and 3 in Chennai.
What sets C7 apart from other clinics in the industry is its approach to patient care? Arjun believes that electrotherapy may have its benefits, but should be avoided as much as possible, because a therapist will become dependent on it and will not focus on the real treatment, being exercise therapy. He believes that patient assessment should take 1.5 to 2 hours to focus on the root cause of the problem and not just the presenting symptoms. This emphasis on quality care has helped C7 stand out in a highly competitive industry.
However, running a business is challenging, and Arjun has faced several obstacles as a clinic owner. One of the biggest challenges he has faced is managing his team and maintaining the quality of treatment. Managing 10 different teams is extremely challenging, but he works every single day to ensure that his team is up-to-date and fully skilled. Additionally, the competition in the industry has made it necessary for Arjun to justify his prices to patients, as other clinics have different price ranges.
Despite these challenges, Arjun has been able to maintain the success of his clinics by selecting and training the support staff carefully. Arjun ensures that every new staff member undergoes a rigorous orientation and 1-week training period under an experienced staff member. Furthermore, C7 conducts academic sessions every Saturday to discuss new techniques and trends in the field of physiotherapy, ensuring that its staff members stay up-to-date with the latest advancements. At C7, they bring in experts and actual trainers to train the staff.
Looking toward the future, Arjun has big dreams for C7. He hopes to open 100 clinics all over India, making quality physiotherapy accessible to as many people as possible. To balance finance with healthcare, Arjun believes that the only way to stay ethical is by justifying the cost of treatment to patients. He also believes in limiting the number of patients that therapists see in a day, allowing for a stronger patient-therapist bond and higher quality of care. He believes that working on the reputation of your brand is the most important thing and is much more important than revenue. Once someone works on reputation, revenue becomes secondary.
When asked about his daily routine, Arjun shared that his day typically starts at 6 am with sports patients until 8:30 am where he treats a variety of patients with sports injuries. He utilizes the latest evidence-based practice and takes his time to implement treatment protocols. This is followed by a personal workout till 9:30. He then attends administrative work until 11 am and looks after around 4-5 OPD patients until noon. The rest of his day is filled with corporate meetings and a second OPD session from 8-11 pm.
When asked about what advice he would give to youngsters who aspire to own clinics of their own, Arjun advised patience and a commitment to learning. He recommends waiting at least two years after graduating before opening a clinic to gain more experience and knowledge. He says that once you own a clinic, you may stop learning, because, once you are the boss, there may be nobody to correct you. Arjun stresses the importance of being under the tutelage of an experienced physiotherapist, and of learning responsibility and commitment. By taking these steps, aspiring clinic owners can follow in Arjun’s footsteps and make their impact in the industry
In conclusion, we learned that becoming a chain physio clinic owner is not an easy feat. It takes hard work, dedication, and a passion for helping people. Arjun G is an excellent example of someone who had a dream and worked tirelessly to achieve it. Despite facing numerous challenges along the way, Arjun was able to build a successful business by prioritizing patient care and investing in the training of his staff. With patience, dedication, and a love for the field of physiotherapy, anyone can achieve their dream of owning a chain of clinics.
